Android 5.0-based Cyanogen OS 12 is now rolling out to OnePlus One (Update)

Cyanogen S 12After a long wait, Cyanogen Inc has finally released the Android 5.0-based Cyanogen OS 12 update for the OnePlus One smartphone. The update is now rolling out over-the-air and will reach your One smartphone shortly.

According to Cyanogen team, the update brings the usual Lollipop goodies as well as Cyanogen OS-specific tweaks to the phone. You can expect to see material design changes, Cyanogen email app powered by Boxer, as well as a new feature called App Themer, which will allow the One users to theme individual applications.

“The material design language implemented for Lollipop now makes its way across our Cyanogen operating system. Taking on the material design elements of visual, motion and interaction design, Cyanogen OS has never looked better,” wrote Cyanogen team in a blog post.

The update will be available for all One smartphones including the Indian version, which was earlier not supposed to get Cyanogen OS 12, but it seems OnePlus and Cyanogen have sorted out the issues.Cyanogen OS 12If you have already updated your One smartphone, do let us know about the experience in the comments section.

In related news, Cyanogen team has noted the Cyanogen OS 12 update will reach Yu Yureka smartphone as well as in the next few days.

Update:  OnePlus has paused the CM OS 12 update roll-out to add a new feature to the update and the OTA roll-out will begin again later this week. If you don’t want to wait, you can manually flash the update and you will get the new feature later as another OTA update.

  1. yeah looks like staged rollout but do we have to be on 05Q i.e. the latest update to get the CM12 or we will get the update regardless ?

  2. I am yet to get the OTA update for my OPO (Indian version bought on Amazon). Is it same across or some issue with my device?
