The road to the first commercially available Ubuntu phone hasn’t been easy for Canonical, but the company is hopeful. To remind you, apart from bq, Meizu will also be releasing an Ubuntu phone, but it will most likely be China-exclusive.
Coming back to Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, the smartphone carries a price-tag of €169.90 and can be ordered from the company store. It features a 4.5-inch qHD display, 2150 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM and 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The phone also packs 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front snapper.
There is no word on whether bq plans to release the phone outside EU. It is more likely that some other vendor will bring a device for launch in Asia, Americas and Africa.
