US Android news round-up: Updates for AT&T HTC One M8 & LG G Pad 8.3 GPe

Software updates are coming from all directions, while some devices are getting Android 5.0, others are receiving Android 5.1.

Android 5.0 OTA for AT&T HTC One (M8) goes live today

According to HTC’s Mo Versi, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for AT&T’s One (M8) will go live beginning Tuesday, April 7. The update will be available over-the-air and you can go check for it at the usual place – Settings > About Phone > Software update.

LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition getting Android 5.1 update

In other software update related news, Google has released the Android 5.1 over-the-air update for G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition. It is the second Google Play edition device after Moto G (1st gen) GPe to get the Android 5.1. The update is 204MB in size and brings new features, performance enhancements and bug-fixes.

Sling International Android app reaches Google Play

DishWorld got re-branded to Sling International a few days and now the service has released the official Android app in Google Play. The application allows the US-based Asians to check out TV shows and movies in Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Filipino, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Mandarin, Marathi, Punjabi, Taiwanese, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
