Xiaomi Mi Pad debuts in India; priced at INR 12,999

In addition to the Redmi 2 smartphone, Xiaomi has also unveiled the Mi Pad tablet in the Indian market on Thursday. It has been priced at INR 12,999 and will be available without flash sales beginning March 24.

Xiaomi Mi Pad is the company’s first tablet and comes with a 7.9-inch 2048×1536 IPS display, 2.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The tablet also packs 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 6700 mAh battery.

In addition, Xiaomi has included 8MP rear camera with BSI sensor, 5MP front shooter, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity in the Mi Pad. There is no 3G support in the tablet.

The tablet will compete with the likes of Dell Venue 8 (2014), Google Nexus 7 (2013), Samsung and Galaxy Tab 3 Neo in the country.

According to Xiaomi, Mi Pad will be released in White colour option.

Xiaomi Power Banks

In related news, Xiaomi revealed during the press event today that thinner 5000 mAh and 10,000 mAh power banks as well as the 16,000 mAh power bank will be released in the Indian market sometime in April. There is no word on pricing at this point.
