Google releases PDF Viewer for Android, updates Drive app

Advertisements

Google has released a standalone PDF reader app in the Play Store for Android users. Dubbed as Google PDF Viewer, the app doesn’t bring any new functionality that isn’t already available on your Android device if it packs Google Drive app. Google has primarily launched the app for Android for Work users, who don’t want to deploy Google Drive Android version in their enterprise set-up and need a small app that can offer PDF viewing capabilities.

“PDF Viewing is now available directly in Google Drive. For environments where this cannot be deployed, Google PDF Viewer offers the same capabilities in a standalone app. View, print, search and copy text from pdf documents while you’re on the go,” Google writes in Play Store description.

Google Drive v2.2 update

In related news, Google has rolled-out an updated version of Google Drive Android app. The new version brings drag and drop file management and tweaked navigation menu. The company hasn’t shared an official change-log, so we are not sure if there are any other changes.
