Alcatel OneTouch’s new Hero 2+ smartphone runs Cyanogen OS

Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+Alcatel OneTouch on Monday became the third smartphone vendor after OnePlus and Yu Televentures to introduce a smartphone based on Cyanogen OS.  The company has unveiled the new Hero 2+ at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which will run on Android 4.4-based Cyanogen OS 11 and sports a 6-inch full HD display.

The Hero 2+ will be released in the North America in the beginning of Q2, 2015 for $299 via Alcatel OneTouch store on Amazon.com.

“We promised big things for Alcatel OneTouch in North America for 2015, and with our partnership with Cyanogen and the launch of the HERO 2+, we’re delivering on our promise. We will continue to invest in strategic partnerships – like we have with Cyanogen – which not only helps build our brand here in North America, but also helps us challenge expectations when it comes to the devices we bring to market here,” said Steve Cistulli, Senior Vice President of North America for Alcatel OneTouch.

Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ comes with 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and 3100 mAh battery. Featuring an aluminium body, the phone also comes with 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter and 4G LTE support.
