As we reported earlier, e-retailer Amazon India has begun the sales of Samsung Galaxy J1 budget Android smartphone in the country. The smartphone can now be grabbed from the website in Black, Blue or White colour options for INR 7,190. Amazon is also running a couple of promotions for the phone like free data worth INR 600 from Reliance Communications and Aircel as well as free content worth INR 14000 from StarSports.com.

Originally introduced in Malaysia last month, Samsung Galaxy J1 features a 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480p) display, 1.2GHz dual-core cortex-A7 processor, 512MB of RAM and Android 4.4. The phone also packs 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter, FM Radio, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. On the connectivity front, Samsung has included dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the smartphone.

There is no word on when the Galaxy J1 will be released in brick-and-mortar stores or other e-retailers at this point, but we hope to hear from Samsung soon.

JOKE OF THE DAY “4.3-inch WVGA (800x480p) display, 1.2GHz dual-core cortex-A7 processor, 512MB of RAM” for Rs 7200

I don’t understand why Samsung is releasing such phones! I don’t see any reason anybody would buy this. To fool some uninformed brick and mortar buyers?
