Moto E gets a price-cut in India, now available for INR 5,999

Moto E on FlipkartMotorola and Flipkart have reduced the price of the much-popular budget Android smartphone “Moto E” in the country. The smartphone, which exclusively retails via Flipkart like other Motorola phones, is now available at just INR 5,999, down INR 1,000 from the original INR 6,999 price-tag.

With Lollipop update expected any day now, Moto E is a great option for anyone looking for buy a decent entry-level Android phone.

To remind you, Moto E features a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and 1980 mAh battery. The phone also packs dual-SIM support, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and 5MP camera.

E-retailer Flipkart is also running a promotion on its website for Moto E, as a part of which, Moto E buyers will get 500 MB 3G/2G data per month for 2 months in 3G/2G circles for Airtel prepaid and Bill discounts of INR 150 and INR 100 per month for 2 months on subscription of 3G and 2G data boosters of 500 MB and above in 3G and 2G circles respectively for Airtel postpaid.

  1. Bit too little, way too late IMO. Much better options available at that range. With RJio, Airtel, Aircel foraying big time into 4G, doesn’t make sense anymore to buy a non-LTE device any more – that too with a puny 4.3″ screen running an underpowered SD 200 Soc, without an Autofocus rear camera, no 1080 recording and a non-existent selfie cam!

Even the 2nd gen ME doesn’t sound promising at all. By the looks of things, the upcoming A1 devices will eat Moto alive. They’ve already dropped the ball with the 2nd gen MG and looks like nothing will change with the 2nd gen ME either. 😦
