Although this variant carries the same model number as the original Zenfone 5, it is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor instead of 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The company is also not bundling any headset with this variant.
Other specifications of the new Zenfone 5 variant are same as the original, which include 5-inch 720p HD display, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and dual-SIM support. The phone also comes with 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter and 2110 mAh battery.
The INR 7,999 version of Asus Zenfone 5 has been released in White and Black colour options.
In related news, the 8GB version of the original Zenfone 5 is also being offered a reduced price-tag of INR 8,999 for a limited time. It was originally launched at INR 9,999, but recently got a price-cut to INR 9,499. To remind you, Asus also retails a Zenfone 5 Lite, also known as Zenfone 5 A502CG, in the country for INR 8,849.
