“We saw unprecedented response with over three lakh registrations. Registrations were to be open till 25th December. However, owing to the mega response they had to be closed a day earlier,” Micromax co-founder & Yu founder Rahul Sharma told PTI.
The company is promising that going ahead it will ramp the production of the smartphone, but given the consumer response, they are unlikely to have sufficient number of the units any time soon.
“We are working on ramping our capacities. Given the kind of enthusiasm that we have seen, we will increase the number of units put out for sale gradually,” Sharma added.
Originally unveiled last month, Yu Yureka smartphone has been priced at INR 8,999 and comes with some impressive specifications for the price-tag. The phone features a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, dual-SIM support and 5MP front shooter.

This is going to be one of the worst stock planning, deal with cyanogen was closed before 2 months, phone was launched before 1 month, registration was closed before 20 days and available stock is only 3% of registrations. What was in Mr Sharma’s mind??? Blindly follow Xioami…..atleast they are present in 5/6 countries. Yu is just launched that too getting the mobile from Coolpad, what is stopping you. Just for CM people will wait, other wise it would have been a disaster!
xiaomi launching redminote2 on Jan 15
