Panasonic to launch its Lumix CM1 camera-phone in US this summer: Report

Panasonic Lumix CM1Panasonic is reportedly planning to launch its Lumix CM1 camera-phone in the US market this summer. This point & shoot and Android smartphone hybrid was originally announced last year during Photokina in September and has got quite a few photo-enthusiasts excited.

While the Lumix CM1 might not replace DSLRs, it is actually a great camera-phone on paper, which will not make you regret the missing DSLR at any given photo opportunity. It sports a 1-inch MOS sensor capable of taking 20MP images with an f2.8 28mm Leica DC lens. The phone is also capable of recording 4K videos and is quite slim for a device packing such impressive imaging chops, however it is important to note here that CM1 is a camera first and smartphone second.

Other specifications of the device include 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 4.7-inch full HD display, 16GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and includes 4G support as well as a 2600 mAh battery.

According to Gizmodo, it will get a price-tag around $1000 unlocked and work with AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Check out the full specifications in the related link below.
