Sharp on Monday announced that its upcoming UE30 and UH30-series Smart TVs will run on Android TV platform. The company hasn’t shared many details at this point, but it did state that these televisions will have the latest version of Sharp’s SmartCentral (version 4.0).

“SmartCentral 4.0 offers an easy-to-navigate settings and device menu and personalized accounts for each family member. Plus control and navigation are in the palm of your hand with the SmartCentral 4.0 mobile app. Use your tablet or smartphone to browse, search and select content without interrupting what you’re already watching,” Sharp noted in a press release.

The company has also revealed that the TV sets will include support for “VP9” codecs, which allow the compatible YouTube, Netflix and other online videos to be streamed in 4K.

According to Sharp, UE30 Smart TV line-up is mid-range and comes in screen sizes ranging from 60 inches up to 80 inches. These will be priced starting $1,999 and go on up to $5,399. On the other hand, the UH30 line-up is high-end and will have screen sizes of 70 and 80 inches and get priced starting $3,199.

The new Smart TVs will go on sale in spring 2015 in the United States.
