Google updates Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides & Maps apps for Android

Google on Tuesday released updates for several of its applications in Google Play. While none of the applications have got anything major, the changes are still significant.  The Android apps being updated are Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Maps.

All these updates will reach your Android devices in the coming days via Play Store.

Starting with Docs, Sheets and Slides apps updates, these applications now includes better formatting controls; are easier to work with Office files and have got better accessibility options.

“Docs app has some new, handy line spacing controls that let you choose single, double or fractional line spacing, Sheets has scrollbars for faster navigation, and you can now insert, move, resize and rotate text boxes, shapes and lines in the updated Slides app,” Drive team noted in a Google+ post.

Coming to the Drive app changes, it now includes support for importing all three major ODF (Open) file formats, more complex SmartArt from older Powerpoint presentations, and merged cells in Word and slide numbers in Powerpoint. This is not all, users will also be able to search Drive files with Ok Google hotword in Google search.Lastly, check out the Google Maps app change-log below.
