Google releases Device Assist troubleshooting app for select devices

Device AssistGoogle has released a new “Device Assist” application in Google Play to help Android users with troubleshooting and more. Compatible with Nexus, Google Play edition and Android One devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop, the app is US-only right now.

According to Google, Device Assist provides tips, tricks and proactive troubleshooting instructions to users to help their experience their Android device better. While the release of this app is a welcome move, it is surprising to see that it took this long for Google release such an application for the platform. With thousands of users roaming around forums and blogs each day to find solutions for their basic Android problems, the application would certainly be very helpful, however we hope that Google will soon add support for more Android devices, older Android versions and remove the geographical restrictions.

If you don’t wish to wait for Google to remove US-only tag, you can grab the application from APK Mirror.

App features:

  • Get proactive help with detected issues (GPS, connectivity, battery, etc.)
  • Get tips to explore new features and improve the performance of your device
  • For Nexus and Google Play edition devices, gain easy access to live Google support
