Gionee to launch dual-display flip phone ‘W900’ soon

Gionee is preparing to launch its first dual-display clamshell smartphone in the form of W900. This phone was recently spotted in the database of Chinese regulator TENAA. While the release details and pricing remain a mystery, the TENAA listing has revealed the specifications of the phone.

Gionee W900 look quite similar to Samsung’s dual-display flip Android phones launched in the last two years, however the Gionee phone is more powerful. It packs two four-inch full HD AMOLED displays, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2050 mAh battery.

In addition, Gionee has included Android 4.4.4, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 4G LTE support and the usual connectivity options.

There is no word on whether the phone will ever be released outside China, but it looks unlikely as there is no market for clamshell phones these days outside China and South Korea. We expect an official announcement about the phone in the coming weeks, till then check out more images of the phone in the gallery below.
