Google might yet to reveal plans for Android One program expansion outside India, but an Android One smartphone is already on sale in UK. Karbonn via London-based mobile manufacturer and distributor Santok has launched Sparkle V Android One smartphone in the country.
The phone is now on sale at Amazon UK for 129 pounds and can be grabbed in White, Blue and Red colour options.
Originally introduced in September, Karbonn Sparkle V features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The phone also packs 5MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter, 1700 mAh battery and dual-SIM support.
On the software front, the Sparkle V currently runs on Android 4.4.4, but will be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update sometime between mid-December and early-January.
According a report in Telecoms.com, Santok is in talks with various retailers in UK to expand the availability of Sparkle V to brick and mortar stores, but nothing concrete has been revealed until now.
Google is not officially commented on Karbonn Sparkle V launch in UK.
