After introducing a mammoth 16000 mAh power bank some time back, Xiaomi has now unveiled the successor to its 5200 mAh power bank in the form of a 5000 mAh power bank. The new accessory is just 9.9mm thick, which is less than half of the 5200 mAh power bank thickness.

Among other features, the new power bank has 2.1A output, meaning your smartphone will get charged faster, and 93 percent conversation rate for less power wastage. This conversion rate is 8 percent higher than its predecessor.

The 5000 mAh power bank also sports the typical all aluminium shell that is present in other Xiaomi power bank and includes a bundle of safety features.

The device goes on sale today in China for 49 yuan ($8), which is same as the older 5200 mAh model. There is no word on the release in other countries, but we expect that to happen in the coming months.
