Within days of going on sale at e-retailer Flipkart, Panasonic Eluga I smartphone has been officially launched by the company. As per a press release issued by the company, the new smartphone will retail at INR 9,490 in the country, not INR 10,990, at which it is currently being offered at Flipkart.

The phone sports with a slightly raised 5-inch HD display panel, which, as per the Panasonic, will offer better viewing angles to the consumers. Among other specifications, the phone packs 1.3GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4.2, 1GB of RAM, and 2000 mAh battery. Panasonic has also included 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and 2MP front shooter on the Eluga I.

According to the company, it is bundling an interactive flip cover with the phone, which will allow access to stuff like caller-ID, notifications, and reminders without the need of opening the cover. The cover includes a window on the front, similar to Samsung S-View cover, where the necessary information is displayed.

“With the launch of Eluga I, Panasonic India is offering a new dimension to the company’s unique Eluga series culture; wherein the model has been introduced to reinforce our category strength with one of the most innovative phones in the Eluga series while meeting the needs and requirements of the customers,” said Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India.
