Will include a new 5.5-inch Zenfone model

Asus is reportedly planning to announce the second-generation Zenfone line-up at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015. The company will also add a new 5.5-inch model to the series, taking the total number of smartphones in Zenfone-series to five – Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 (4.5-inch), Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 (5.5-inch) and Zenfone 6.

The specifics of the upcoming smartphones are unclear but Asus is said to be planning to focus on LTE models, so we will most likely see LTE-support in most (if not all) of the second-generation Zenfone line-up. The company expects to ship 16 million smartphones next year.

Zenfone-series launch in Brazil this month

In related news, Asus will launch the existing Zenfone line-up in Brazil in October, making it the first country in the Americas to get the Zenfone smartphones officially. The pricing or availability details are unclear but we hope to hear something from the company soon.

To remind you, Asus Zenfone smartphones are currently available in a dozen countries – Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Russia, Turkey and the Philippines – and Brazil will be the 13th country to get them.
