Dropbox has announced the release of a new version of its Android application in Google Play. The updated version brings one of the most sought out features – export files to SD card.

“We’re always listening and looking for ways to make Dropbox fit more seamlessly into how you work — no matter which device you’re on. Exporting Dropbox files to an external SD card has been one of our most-requested Android features, which is why we’re excited that it’s part of our latest Dropbox for Android release, available for all versions of Android,” Dropbox team wrote in a blog post.

To utilise the feature, you will first have to install the updated version from Google Play. If you already have Dropbox installed on your phone, go to Play Store to update to the latest version. Once you are on the latest version of Dropbox for Android, tap “Quick Action” button to the right of the file you want to export, select “More”, then “Export”, and tap “Save to Device” to pick your external SD card. (If you don’t see your external SD card, choose the menu within the “Save to” screen, followed by “Settings” and then “Display advanced devices”.)

In addition to the export to SD support, the new version of Dropbox also brings better support for Android L, improved search experience and big fixes.
