HTC has announced the launch of its Butterfly 2 smartphone in the Malaysian market today. The phone has been priced at RM 2,299 ($710) and will be available in White and Red colour options.

Originally unveiled last month, the HTC Butterfly 2 comes with 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 5-inch full HD display and Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0. The phone also packs 13MP rear camera with depth sensor, 5MP front shooter, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.

HTC has also included 2700 mAh battery, 4G LTE support and water/ dust resistance on the phone. As you can see, the specifications are pretty much same as HTC One M8 apart from the presence of a 13MP rear camera sensor instead of the Ultrapixel sensor.

There is still no word on the India release of the phone but we expect it to reach the country soon.

Desire 510 to go on sale in US today

In related news, HTC’s Desire 510 smartphone will go on sale at telecom operator Sprint in the United States.  HTC Desire 510 comes with specifications like 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 4.7-inch display, 8GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera and front camera. The phone will also support Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

The phone will cost nothing with the usual two-year contract.
