Motorola to launch new Droid-series smartphone next month: Report

Advertisements

Motorola is reportedly getting ready to launch a new Droid-series smartphone on telecom operator Verizon Wireless in the United States. The smartphone will be unveiled next month but an exact date is not final at this point, reports CNET citing people familiar with the matter.

CNET notes that the USP of the smartphone will be its quick-charging feature and the phone will provide long battery life. The news website also writes that unlike the previous years, Motorola is only releasing one Droid-series smartphone in 2014.

Verizon had teased the impending Droid-series device announcement via a cryptic tweet from its @DroidLanding Twitter account earlier this month. The account has also talked about quick charging feature in one of the teasers.

There are no specific details available at this point but some rumours indicate the phone is codenamed Quark and might be dubbed as Droid Turbo. It is expected to be a high-end smartphone.
