Indian smartphone vendors Micromax and Karbonn are teasing the impending release of their first Android One smartphones, which are set to be officially launched tomorrow at a press event in New Delhi.
Talking about Micromax first, the company has released a teaser, which reveals that the company’s first Android One smartphone will be available starting September 15, exclusively at Amazon India. The phone is rumoured to feature a 4.5-inch display, FM Radio, 5MP rear camera, Android 4.4.4, 1GB of RAM, and microSD card slot.
Other details are unclear at this point but we believe that the phone will be dubbed as Micromax Canvas One and get a price-tag around INR 6,999 in the country.
Similarly, Karbonn has also rolled-out a video teaser (see at the end of the report) of its upcoming Android One smartphone. The smartphone will be sold exclusively via Snapdeal.com in the country and is expected to get specifications similar to Micromax’s Android One smartphone.
There is no word on branding at this point but with just over 24 hours to go for Google’s September 15 press event, we won’t have to wait for long.
In related news, Spice, which is also an Android One partner, will be launching its first Android One smartphone as well tomorrow. The full details of this smartphone are available here.
