After unveiling a decent budget tablet in the form of Tab S8 at IFA, Lenovo has now introduced two Android smartphones in Berlin. Part of the company’s Vibe-series, the new phones are Vibe Z 2and Vibe X2.

Talking about Lenovo Vibe X2 first, the smartphone sports a layered design with three colours stacked atop each other. The company claims that X2 is the world’s first smartphone to come with such a design pattern. In terms of the specifications, X2 features a 5-inch full HD display, MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. The smartphone also packs 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 4G LTE support, and the usual set of connectivity options.

“The VIBE X2 offers consumers a smartphone that’s as unique as they are, starting with its three layer color gradient design that looks as beautiful as it feels in the hand,” said Colin Giles, senior vice president, worldwide sales, Mobile Business Group, Lenovo.”

Lenovo Vibe Z2, on the other hand, is the company’s first 64-bit smartphone with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor at core. The phone also includes a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 3000 mAh battery, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Lenovo is targeting the phone to selfie-lovers. Both phones run on Android 4.4.

Pricing and availability

According to Lenovo, both Vibe X2 and Z2 will first be released in China beginning October, followed by launch in other Asia Pacific countries, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The Vibe X2 will retail at $399, while the Vibe Z2 will cost $429.
