According to Toshiba, Chromebook 2 sports a 13.3-inch display in a very compact chassis. The device also packs a sound system by Skullcandy, which, the company claims, will offer great audio quality.
“Our hardware design is evolving alongside Chrome OS. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 has the right mix of features and performance to make it a standout device in the category. We designed our new Chromebooks for both the consumer and education markets, focusing on key experience-driving features that cross boundaries – a great screen, awesome audio and a stylish, thin and light design for greater portability,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.
Among other specifications, the Chromebook 2 comes with 4th generation Intel Celeron processor, 2/ 4GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, SD card slot, and HD webcam. The device also sports one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and HDMI output.
Pricing and availability:
Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 will go on sale October 5, starting $249.99 ($329.99 for full HD version) in the United States.
