Flipkart starts teasing new Moto G as launch approaches

New Moto G teaserAs September 5 draws near, Indian e-retailer Flipkart has started teasing the upcoming availability of Moto G successor on its social media channels. Motorola India is hosting a press event in New Delhi on Friday, where it will be unveiling the Moto G successor along with possibly other new devices. The global announcement is, however, scheduled for September 4 in Chicago.

The teaser confirms the speculation that the new Moto G will be sold via Flipkart like its predecessor, whether exclusively, remains to be seen.

As we recently reported, the units of new Moto G have already started reaching Indian shores and a leaked image from Flipkart warehouse has also shown the brand new boxes of the upcoming smartphone. At the time of writing this report, over 70,000 units of the phone have reached the country and more are expected in days leading up to the release. The phone is expected to go on sale immediately or on September 6 in the country.

As per the rumours, Moto G successor will include a 5-inch 720p HD display, Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter and Android 4.4.4. The phone will be released in two colour options.

India is expected to get a dual-SIM version of the phone, although a single-SIM version as well as dual-SIM + Digital TV version will be released in other markets such as Brazil.

Are you waiting for the smartphone, do let us know in comments.

      • That’s exactly what I was thinking as that’s the MO for the automotive industry, (the 2014 City or the 2015 Swift etc.) but then the purported retail box simply says ‘Moto G’.

Either way, not a bad choice for just over 10K, I don’t think, seeing as most big MNCs are still releasing Snapdragon 400 phones with lower res screens and 8GB storage for 18-24K (Xperia C, Grand 2 etc.)

  1. Specifications wise this is lower when compared to Xiaomi Mi3. But hey you can at least buy this phone whenever you want.. Not like Xiaomi`s sadistic 2.1 seconds timeout… And the worst part is to see the same message in Xiaomi FB page… Damn it!!!
