Gionee launches GPad G5 with hexa-core processor for INR 14,999

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has released a new mid-range Android smartphone in the Indian market. Part of the company’s GPad line-up, the new GPad G5 smartphone has been priced at INR 14,999 and will go on sale in the coming days.

“Our basic thought behind introducing this product (Gionee GPad G5) was to give our consumers a superior product that can be handled with ease. There is a huge demand for premium features at affordable prices. Keeping consumer preferences in mind we have introduced the device which is high on features and easy on the pocket and we are excited to get it to the market,” said Arvind Vohra, India Head, Gionee Smartphones in a statement.

The Gionee GPad G5 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by 1.5GHz hexa-core of unknown make. Among other specifications, the phone runs on Android 4.4 and packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2400 mAh battery.

Gionee has also included 8MP rear auto-focus camera, 2MP front camera, 3G and the usual set of connectivity options in the smartphone.

The phone will be released in Black colour option.
