Swipe introduces new smartphone with fingerprint scanner for INR 9,999

Days after iBerry became one of the first affordable smartphone vendors to launch a smartphone with a fingerprint scanner, Swipe Telecom has joined the group with the release of its new Sense smartphone, which too packs a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the phone.

“Swipe understands the communications needs of Indian youth of today and has been launching innovative products that meet their aspirations. Swipe Sense is our latest offering that adds an additional layer of security to the pack of rich multimedia and social media features. And keeping our tradition of ensuring affordability, we have priced Swipe Sense at an attractive point that makes it absolutely sensible,” said Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe in a statement.

Swipe Sense has been priced at INR 9,999 and will go on sale in the coming days.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch qHD display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4 and 2250 mAh battery. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera, 3.2MP front shooter, 3G, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage and microSD card slot. In addition, Swipe has included dual-SIM support and the usual set of connectivity options on the phone.

Swipe Sense will be available in Black colour option.
