After the recent launch of Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi has now announced the launch of Redmi 4G (aka Hongmi 4G) in the Chinese market. The phone will go on sale on August 16 for 699 yuan ($110) and supports TD-LTE (no luck for FDD-LTE users).

Powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, the new Redmi 4G comes with the similar specs as 3G version apart from the obvious 4G support. To remind you, the specifications include 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera, single-SIM support, the usual connectivity options, 2200 mAh battery and Android 4.4 based MIUI v5.

There is no word on whether the company will release Redmi 4G outside China but the current TD-LTE version seems unlikely.

In related news, Xiaomi is expected to announce an availability date for Redmi 1S smartphone for the Indian market by the end of this week. The phone will retail for INR 6,999 in the country.
