iberry launches Auxus Note 5.5 with built-in fingerprint scanner

Relatively less-known smartphone vendor iberry has introduced a new Android smartphone in the Indian market. Sporting a 5.5-inch HD display, the new iberry Auxus Note 5.5 comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back, making it the first budget smartphone in the country to come with such feature.

According to iberry, the fingerprint scanner is located below the rear camera and can be used to unlock the device as well as set secure profiles. The consumers can set upto three fingerprints in the smartphone, which can have a separate secure profile and different set of visible apps for each profile. While the feature and implementation sound great on paper, only the actual use will determine its real value.

Among other specifications, the phone includes dual-SIM support, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, NFC and 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6592) processor.

The smartphone has been priced at INR 13,999 will go on sale beginning August 21 exclusively at eBay India.

In addition, iberry has also introduced a 7-inch dual-SIM tablet – Auxus AX04i in the country, which packs a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 3000 mAh battery, 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. The tablet will retail for INR 6,490 and will also go at eBay India.
