Asus launches Chromebox in India, priced starting INR 21,000

Asus has announced the launch of its first Chrome OS product for the Indian consumers today. The company is releasing its Chromebox device in the country, which will be sold starting INR 21,000. Asus is bundling free keyboard and mouse as well with the Chromebox.

Originally unveiled in February this year, Asus Chromebox is a small box, which houses all the necessary components to run a Chrome OS computer. It packs Intel’s fourth-gen processors, card reader, four USB3.0 ports, one HDMI port, DisplayPort, and Ethernet. It also packs 16GB SSD, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Asus Chromebox will be available in the country in three SKUs, which will each pack different processor (Intel Celeron 2955U, Core i3-4010U or Core i7-4600U) and RAM (2GB or 4GB). Like other Chrome OS devices, Google will also be offering 100 GB of free Google Drive space for two years with Asus Chromebox.“We’re excited to launch the Chromebox in India. There is no word on the exact availability date but we are trying to find out and will update the report as soon as we know something.
