Samsung has silently listed its new Galaxy Star 2 Plus smartphone on the official e-store in the country. The phone has got a price-tag of INR 7,335 but the availability details are still unclear.
A budget Android smartphone with KitKat on-board, Galaxy Star 2 Plus features a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz processor, 1800 mAh battery and 512MB of RAM. The phone also packs 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and 3MP rear camera. In addition, Samsung has included the usual set of connectivity options including 3G support and dual-SIM support.
At the price-tag, the phone will be going against the likes of Moto G, Asus Zenfone 4 and the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 1s, all of which are offer far better specifications and features than the Samsung smartphone.
In related news, the Galaxy Ace NXT smartphone, which was recently rumoured to arrive in the country, is now also listed on the Samsung India e-store for INR 7,335.
Phones/prices like these from Samsung, HTC and Nokia are the reasons why Moto, ASUS and Xiaomi are becoming more and more successful.
Till now its OK to sell crappy phones at high prices. Not anymore.
