Spice launches Stellar 526 and Stellar 520 smartphones in India

Spice on Wednesday unveiled two Android smartphones in the country. Part of the company’s Stellar line-up, the phones are Stellar 526 and Stellar 520.

According to Spice, Stellar 526 is its first smartphone with a hexa-core processor inside. The phone also comes with dual-SIM (3G + 3G) support, 5-inch HD display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Spice has also included Android 4.4, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera and 3.2MP front camera on the smartphone.

With the enrolment of latest technology into our products, we aim at intensifying our customer base and build on customer loyalty. We have always strived to bring devices that are not budget heavy and this certainly creates ripples in the domestic smartphone space, thus making the high end products affordable the youth aspiring big in life,” said T M Ramakrishnan, CEO-Devices, Spice Retail Limited.

Coming to Spice Stellar 520, the smartphone also comes with a 5-inch HD display, dual-SIM (3G + 3G) support, 1GB RAM and 8MP rear camera, but is powered by a quad-core processor. Other specifications of the phone include 2MP front camera, 2000 mAh battery and the usual connectivity options.

Pricing & Availability: Spice Stellar 526 has got a price-tag of INR 11,499 while Stellar 520 will retail for INR 8,999. Both smartphones will go on sale in the coming days.

In related news, two other Android smartphones from the company’s Stellar line-up have been spotted selling at the e-retailer Saholic.com. The new Stellar 497 and Stellar 361 run on Android 4.4 and a part of the entry-level segment.

Talking about Spice Stellar 497 first, the phone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and dual-SIM support. The phone also comes with 3.2MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 512MB of RAM. The phone retails for INR 5,999 and will be competing with Asus Zenfone 4.

On the other hand, Spice Stellar 361 packs a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, and dual-SIM support. The phone also comes with 256MB of RAM, 2MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and 1400 mAh battery. It has been priced at INR 3,699.
