As per the import manifest data available at Zauba.com, the company has already imported over 25,000 units of the X2 in the country, suggesting at an impending release. We expect an official announcement later this week or next week.
Although Microsoft has stated that it will continue supporting the existing Nokia X smartphones, the lack of any future for the platform, is only going to deter the buyers from getting the smartphone.
Originally introduced last month, Nokia X2 is an entry-level smartphone and comes with 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM and dual-SIM support. The phone runs on Nokia X software platform 2.0, which is based on AOSP Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Among other specifications, Microsoft has included 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 0.3MP front shooter, 1800 mAh battery and 3G support on the X2.
We expect it to be priced around INR 8,999-9,999, unless the company goes aggressive in order to clear the existing inventory as soon as possible. We are actively tracking the story and will update if any new details pop up.
Thanks Kumar for the tip

Fools think they can fool us. The media should spread this story so as to inform potential customers to avoid this pitfall
