According to a report in LGMobileIndia.in blog, Big B will be officially releasing the phone on July 21 at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai. The company has already started teasing the July 21 reveal but Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement is a surprise.
Roping Bollywood stars is nothing new for smartphone vendors in the country and popular actors are often used to promote the mobile devices but this is probably the first smartphone promotion from Amitabh Bachchan.
Originally introduced in late-May, LG G3 will the second smartphone to reach the country with a Quad-HD display. It is powered by 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and comes with Android 4.4, 2/3 GB of RAM, 16/ 2GB of storage and 13MP rear camera with OIS+.
As per pre-order listing, the phone will get a price-tag of INR 46,990 (16GB) and INR 49,990 (32GB) in the country. There is no word on the pricing of the Big B edition of the phone or how many units will be put on sale.
