Google has started rolling out an updated version of KitKat firmware for Nexus 5 smartphone in India, Australia and New Zealand.  Even in Australia and New Zealand, the update is only valid for Telstra and 2Degrees consumers respectively. Don’t expect to see the update is other markets.

Carrying the build number KTU84Q, the OTA update is currently live to a very limited number of people but we expect an expanded release in the three countries over the coming days.

According to reports, the update included an updated radio image and fixes telecom operator support issues.

Google has already posted the updated factory images and binaries for Android 4.4.4_r2 on its developer website.

If you have got the update on your Nexus 5, do let us know about the experience and any changes you notice in the comments section.

I hav an idea connec and it doesnt wrk in 2g mode..Same goes for vodafone and many other networks in india in 2g mode.. But 3g mode wrks perfectly in majority of netwrks.!! I think this update is for this..!! I hav been waiting for 3 months for an update and before 2 days i hav gone to PA custom rom.. Wat a bad timing.. I hav to figure out way to flash factory image to my custom rom..!

No! Let me explain, the ‘radio chip’ in Nexus 5 does not support the radio band of 2300 on which currently Airtel and Aircel are relying on. No software updates can change any hardware configuration. So simply the answer is NO!
