As the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi gets ready for the India launch, it has released the smartphone shipment numbers for the first half of 2014. According to the company, it has sold 26.11 million smartphones in H1, which not only shows a growth a 271 percent year-over-year but also surpasses the smartphone shipments for the full 2013 (18.7 million).
Xiaomi is aiming for 60 million smartphone shipments this year and with this rate, we believe that it will be able to cross the number.
The company has also revealed that it has garnered the total revenue of 33 billion yuan ($5.3bn) in the first six months, which is 149 percent up from the same time last year.
In related news, an alleged image of the Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi 4 smartphone has appeared online. Being a not-so-great quality image, we can’t see much in the photo but it still gives us an idea of what to expect from Mi 4. The smartphone will play a key role in the smartphone shipment numbers of the company in the second half.
In accompanying details, it has been revealed that Mi 4 will sport a unibody metal design and come with 16MP rear camera, 5-inch display and a quad-core processor.
