“Google has been in talks with MediaTek for the Android One in the past six months and has promised to offer its latest software and filmware of Android platform to the Taiwan-based IC design house for detailed development, indicated the sources,” wrote Digitimes.
Digitimes also adds that the Micromax Android One smartphone, which was teased at the Google I/O, will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6575 dual-core processor. We already know that the phone will feature 4.5-inch display, dual-SIM support, and FM Radio.
Other details are unclear but to remind you, the first Android One smartphones are expected to arrive around Diwali in India and will be released by Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. The phones will retail close the INR 6,000 and will run on latest version of Android, most likely ‘Android L.’
