While we cannot independently verify the claims of ALT 1040, a trademark application from Samsung for Gear Live makes it quite plausible that Gear Live is a real smartwatch.
ALT 1040 has also shared the specifications of the watch, which will come with a 1.63-inch 320x320p Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by 1.2GHz processor (of unknown make) and feature 512MB of RAM, 4GB of on-board storage, 300 mAh battery and Bluetooth 4.0.
The Gear Live will reportedly be water and dust-proof and carry 37.9 x 56.4 x 8.9 mm dimensions. It is expected to go on sale beginning July 7, which is just over ten days away.
The smartwatch will be joining LG G Watch and Moto 360 among the first Android Wear products. We hope to hear more later-today when Google I/O 2014 kicks off in San Francisco.
