ZTE has revealed its plans to launch six smartphones in the Indian market this year. The phones will be a part of various price segments, the company stated.

“Depending on the local carrier, we would launch six devices in India, both 3G and 4G from entry level to high end category,” Adam Zeng, Chief Experience Officer, ZTE Mobile Devices told PTI.

ZTE is especially betting on the 4G roll-out in the country. “We are very optimistic about potential of 4G in India and plan to launch a range of affordable phones to drive the ecosystem,” Zeng added.

The company has noted that the upcoming phones will be priced between INR 7,000 and INR 18,000.  Although, the names of the upcoming devices are unclear at this point, some of these phones could be a part of the company’s premium Nubia line-up.  According to Economic Times, ZTE is currently in talks with online retailers like Flipkart, Amazon, and eBay to offer the Nubia smartphones.

The manufacturer could also release the budget 4G smartphone ZTE V5 in the country, which comes with specifications like 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 13MP rear camera.
