First spotted on Chinese telecom certifications agency TENAA website last month and later sighted in leaked promotional poster of Korean telecom operator SK Telecom, the Galaxy W is a testament of Samsung’s love of phablets. Targeted to the likes of Asus Fonepad and HP VoiceTab, which are more like tablets, Samsung hopes to provide a compact and handy (comparably) device in the form of Galaxy W.
Headed to SK Telecom, it is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and comes with 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Android 4.3, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The smartphone also packs 3200 mAh battery, LTE-A support, and the usual connectivity options.
Samsung Galaxy W will be available in Red, White and Black colour options for 499,400 won ($487).
There is no word on the release in other markets but we expect it to be released in China at least.
