Asus Transformer Book V is a five-in-one Android/ Windows convertible

ASUS Transformer Book VTaking a step up from its usual Padfone devices, Asus introduced the new Transformer Book V at Computex today. This hugely convertible device packs an Android smartphone, a tablet dock as well as a keyboard dock, which together can be turned into a total of five devices including an Android laptop and a Windows tablet.

“Transformer Book V is the world’s first five-mode, three-in-one converged laptop that features a Windows and Android laptop and tablet as well as an Android smartphone, making it an incredibly flexible device able to excel in any usage scenario. Its revolutionary and elegant design comprises a laptop with a detachable 12.5-inch screen that becomes a separate tablet and a 5-inch smartphone that docks into the tablet,” Asus noted in a press release.

Coming to the details, Asus is including a Zenfone 5 like KitKat smartphone in Transformer Book V, which is powered by 64-bit Intel Atom quad-core processor and packs LTE support, 5-inch display of unknown resolution, 2500 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, and 2MP front camera. When you dock the phone in the tablet dock, you get the phone’s Android interface within Windows 8.1. You can also switch to Android or Windows 8.1 completely. Lastly, the keyboard dock can be attached to get the full laptop experience in both Android and Windows 8.1 modes.

The tablet dock includes a 12.5-inch HD IPS display, 4GB of RAM, Intel Core processor and 128GB SSD, while the keyboard comes with 1TB storage, full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad.

There is no word on pricing and exact availability date right now.
