LG’s upcoming May 27 press event is increasingly becoming a formality and the company’s decision to hold a preview event for the retail partners in South Korea hasn’t helped at all. Thanks to one leak-loving retailer present at the preview event, the official details of the phone have appeared online.
Most of these details are same as what we have been hearing for quite some time but there are some surprises like the presence of Snapdragon 801 processor instead of Snapdragon 805, which was being rumoured.
Among other specifications, the phone will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display (2560x1440p) display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera with OIS+, 2.1MP front camera, and a laser auto focus assist beam (the mystery sensor). In addition, LG G3 packs NFC, 3000 mAh battery, LTE/ LTE-A support, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.4 and just 8.9mm thick body. There is no word on the presence of microSD card slot.
It is important to note here that there could be some differences in the international variants and the Korean variant but don’t expect any huge changes.
LG QuickCircle case for G3
In related news, LG has officially announced the QuickCircle case for the G3 smartphone. This folder case comes with a circular opening on the front, which can be used to perform various tasks without opening the cover itself. The cover also includes support for wireless charging.
“The folder-style case lets users enjoy various features of their G3 without ever having to open the cover. Users can check the time, place calls, send text messages, take photos, listen to music or get an update of their health directly from the circular window,” explained LG in a press note.
The QuickCircle case will be released in five colour options: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Aqua Mint, and Indian Pink. There is no word on the pricing right now.
