Despite being rumoured for a while now, Xiaomi is yet to introduce its first tablet. The company currently sells smartphones, a Smart TV, Wi-Fi router, set-top box and other small accessories. A tablet will be nice fit in its current portfolio.
Reuters’ report is scarce in details but it does state that Xiaomi is reportedly using a Sharp-made display in the rumoured tablet and it might be dubbed as MiPad.
As per a previous report, Xiaomi’s 7.9-inch tablet will come with 2048x1536p resolution display and could use Intel or NVIDIA SoC. The report also suggested that the tablet could sell for as low as 1,000 yuan ($160).
While none of these details can be confirmed at this point, we are hoping to hear more about the tablet at the company’s May 15 event in Beijing.
