If you remember, Google recently released an update for Google Search app on Android, which included several new features. One of the improvements, introduced as a part of the new update, that you probably didn’t know about, is the introduction of a new Google Now card that alerts you of the nearby stores, which include products you’ve been searching online.
“You’ve been looking for the perfect pair of hiking boots online, but haven’t gotten around to pulling the trigger. Starting today, if you’re out and about and near a store that carries those boots, you might see a Google Now card showing you the product and price to remind you that you wanted them,” Google explained in a Google+ post.
We are not sure how exactly is the search giant getting inventory details for the respective stores but it is probably a result of a tie-up and Google will probably be getting money or some other incentive from these stores for referring shoppers to them.
This new feature is most probably US-only right now but we can expect expansion to markets like UK, Canada, Australia and more over the coming months.
