Joining the growing list of Android manufacturers ready to announce their new devices in May, Xiaomi has announced that it is hosting a press event on May 15 in Beijing, where it is expected to showcase new devices.
Although the company has not officially revealed what it will be showing at the event, rumours suggest that we could see the Mi3S smartphone (successor to the company’s current flagship Mi3), MiPad (the much awaited tablet), new Xiaomi Smart TV and new version of MIUI firmware.
As per leaks, Xiaomi Mi3s, which is most likely to appear at May 15 event, will feature a 5-inch full HD display, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.2 with MIUI on top. The phone will also reportedly pack 13MP rear camera, 16GB of internal storage and 5MP/ 8MP front camera.
Mi3S pricing will most probably start at $320 like its predecessor, which has already seen a price-cut to $270.
On the other hand, we have seen two set of leaks about Xiaomi tablet – one with 7.85-inch 2048x1536p display and other with 9.2-inch 1280x800p display. No word on which will debut on May 15, we will have to wait and watch.
No word on the TV and MIUI V6 details, however given the press event is just ten days away, we will know soon enough.
