Developers in eight new countries can now list paid apps in Google Play

Google has expanded the Google Wallet Merchant registration support to eight new countries, in turn allowing the app developers in these markets to list paid apps in Google Play. Google Wallet Merchant registration is a necessity for selling paid apps via Google Play. Even after the latest expansion, the merchant registration is only available in a total of 45 countries around the world right now.

The countries, which have just got the merchant registration support, include Greece, Luxembourg, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.

To remind you, apart from the 45 countries, where developers can list both free and paid apps in Google Play, devs from another 105 countries can list free apps in the store.  The free and paid app availability in Google Play is however limited to users from only 137 countries. Google regularly expands the availability of content or support for developers to new markets, so if you are a developer from one of the countries, which doesn’t have Google Wallet Merchant registration support, worry not, you might get lucky in the coming months.
