HTC introduces One (M8) Harman Kardon edition in US

HTC One (M8) Harman Kardon editionIf the super-loud BoomSound front stereo speakers present in the HTC One (M8) aren’t enough for you, the company has unveiled a special variant of its flagship One (M8) smartphone in the United States.  Developed in partnership with Harman Kardon, this HTC One (M8) special edition phone will go on sale via telecom operator Sprint in the country.

“For years, mobile music has been watered down and compressed into small, low-resolution digital files. The technological advances in smartphone processors and memories make high-quality audio possible today, so Sprint, HARMAN and HTC have partnered to bring this breakthrough to our customers,” said Dan Hesse, Sprint CEO.

Featuring a fresh paint job, the One M8 Harman Kardon edition includes the special audio enhancements like HARMAN’s Clari-Fi (an app that restores and “rebuilds” music fidelity lost during audio compression) and lossless HD audio music reproduction via a 24bit/192kHz DAC. HTC is also bundling Harman Kardon AE-S headphones with the smartphone.

Apart from these new tweaks, rest of the special edition phone is like the normal retail version and comes with 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, Duo rear cameras, 5MP front camera and KitKat.

Pricing and availability

Sprint will begin One (M8) Harman Kardon edition sales on May 2 online and via telesales. The phone will come to Sprint stores on May 9. It will be sold for $0 down (plus tax) and 24 monthly payments of $28.34. Sprint has also revealed that and will also offer the phone in the coming weeks.

Global release?

This is a Sprint-exclusive smartphone, at least for the time-being. So, there is no word on the global release.
