Is Google working on a $100 Nexus smartphone with MediaTek CPU?

Advertisements

An interesting rumour has popped on the web today, which suggests that Google is working on a MediaTek-powered Nexus smartphone. As the report comes with an unverified source, we are sceptical and until there is any credible evidence, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.

According to MTKSJ, this Nexus smartphone will be priced closer to $100 and will be targeted to developing markets where low-cost smartphones are popular. If this rumour turns out to be true, we could see the release of two Nexus smartphones this year including the traditionally high-end Nexus smartphone.

Not many details are available at this point but we will be keeping an eye out and will let you folks know as soon as something new pops up.

A “Nexus Lite” just simply had to come – sooner rather than later. Next is the Motorola $50-$100 phone that their CEO spoke about a few months back. 🙂

So a media tek soc which is a pain in the ass for developers and nexus device which is supposed to be developer friendly
So what is it gonna be like?
Developer friendly or non developer friendly
