In addition to the retail version of HTC One (M8), the Taiwanese manufacturer has also unveiled the Google Play edition and Developer editions of the phone. These variants will go on pre-order today in the United States.
Talking about HTC One (M8) Google Play edition first, this variant of the phone comes with stock version of Android 4.4.2. There are a few tweaks in the software to make the dual-cameras etc. work but it is mostly stock. It will be sold for $699 via Google Play.
Wireless bands supported by Google Play edition:
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900
- WCDMA: 850/AWS/1900/2100 with HSPA+ up to 21Mbps
- LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 (B17/B5/B4/B2, carrier aggregation B4+17;B2+17), + roaming 2600/1800 (B7/B3)
Coming to the Developer edition, it is same as the retail version but comes with unlocked SIM card slot and unlockable bootloader. Dev edition will retail for $650 via HTC.com.
